    A PBX on a PC ? 3CX is a pretty decent solution !

    Greetings ,

Just a follow up on a subject we discussed a while ago about running software on a server or a PC for your Telephone system . I am one who needs to try it first before knowing what it can do . So I loaded 3CX back about 4 months ago ? So far with sip trunks from a local provider , I am VERY impressed with the service !! My system is up and running 24/7 with no issues or security problems ! My SIP trunks , ocassionaly give me some garbled speech ( Cannot manage the Internet ) but overall I am real happy ! My voicemail , call routing , external services , Auto Attendant have all been thoroughly tested ! Flawlessly so far ! Set up was a breeze as if I remember correctly , it was just about an hour after I got the license , software etc. Logs show a few issues at night with my SIP provider but business hours are flawless in softphones , Hard phones ( Grandstream 1782 multiline ) all work great . Audio codecs have been tested out too and work near flawlessly . My next venture is to try out the Grandstream 1784 wireless blu tooth telephone . I have had Yealink T4X and T5X series . I am sure they will work in the same manner . A decent solution with hardly any maintenance and long life , this is a great down and easy set up solution !! Headset tesing as well has great results as well ! We will be looking at tying offices together soon and check out the sip connections etc. on that feature as well ! Local or remote voicemail works fantastic as well as a host of other remote features ( Note they need a good internet connection remotely as well , even a half way decent connection worked really well as in Hotel room end of day type of calling via softphones !!! ) So if you need a quick PBX , SIP trunks are quick and easy to set up , and want service ASAP ( You can change your existing telephone lines over to sip as well but that could take some time ) I love our solution and it has now become a serious part of our operations ! We also run DECT type solutions off the system as well ! Long ranges and clear communications !
